Private car round trip: Cochin - Munnar - Periyar - Kumarakom - Cochin
Day 1 - Arrival Cochin
When you arrive at the Cochin airport you will have a reception while waiting transfer to your hotel. You’ll have time in the afternoon to explore Cochin. Your first stop is at the St. Francis Church, built in 1503 by the Portuguese. Then you’ll visit the Mattancherry Palace or "Dutch Palace" built by the Dutch and later on handed over to the local king. At the harbor, you can see unique Chinese fishing nets, which marks the visit of Chinese people in Cochin. You’ll also visit the Jewish Synagogue, built in 1558. Around the Synagogue, you can buy many antique things. That evening you will enjoy a Kathakali Dance Show which depicts 400 years of history and old legends in this breathtaking dance drama. The dancers wear painted fantastic costumes and color their faces with red, green and black inks. Every gesture and movement by every dancer has a special meaning. After the show you will return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - From Cochin, to Alleppey, to the Houseboat
From Cochin you will drive to Alleppey where you can start your private overnight houseboat trip. The entire day will be spent in the Backwaters where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served. Here, you will glide along the canals and observe the daily live of the Kerala people living on the banks of Backwaters. At night you will settle down to spend it in the house boat on the lake.
Day 3 - Relaxing in Kumarakom

Day 4 - From Kumarakom to Periyar
After breakfast you’ll drive to Thekaddy. This trip through the mountains, spice plantations and tea plantations will definitely energize your senses. After your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for rest and refreshment. In the late afternoon you’ll enjoy a boat trip in Periyar Wildlife National Park. This park is one of the world’s best places to see elephants in their natural surroundings. Day 5 - From Periyar to Madurai
After breakfast you will drive to Madurai where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for refreshment and rest. Madurai is home to many: Pilgrims, beggars, business persons, cow vehicles and many awaiting Rickshaw drivers. It is one of the oldest cities of South India and a center for Pilgrimage. The main attraction which lies in the middle of town is the Sri Meenakshi Temple. It was built during the 17th century in the Dravidian style with many Gopurams (soaring temple towers)and features colorful pictures of God, Goddesses, animals and mystical figures. Religious ceremonies take place here from early morning to late night. Pilgrims from all over the world visit here and sometimes up to 10000 persons are at the Temple. One of the largest temple complexes of India, within the Sri Meenakshi Temple is a market. Evenings you can pursue a temple ceremony. You’ll also have time to visit the 16th-century Thirumalai Nayak Palace before retiring at your hotel for an overnight stay .
Day 6 - From Madurai to Munnar
The next morning you will drive to Munnar, a 5500-foot-high hill station surrounded by a stretch of mountains covered with tea plantations. Munnar is the commercial center for special tea, lying on one of the world's most cultivated higher areas. You can see the rare Nilgiri Tahr, a type of mountain goat’ enjoy the panorama, or climb the cliffs Anamudi which is South India's highest mountain peak. Afterwards, you can stay overnight in Munnar.
Day 7 - Visiting Munnar
Before your Kerala tour ends, you can go sight seeing at Munnar and visit the Mattupetty Lake and Dam. You an also visit the Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, the tea plantations and blossom gardens.
Day 8 - Final Stop: From Munnar to Cochin
On your last day you will drive to Cochin and spend the rest of the day exploring the city or waiting for your flight back to your own country or to your next destination.
