Day 1 - Welcome to Delhi!

You will arrive at the Delhi International Airport. Delhi is India's second largest metropolis next to Mumbai, which is located in the northern part of the country. The architectural features in the city are similar to those which can be seen in Athens, Rome and Istanbul.

Day 2 - Exploring Delhi

Your first day you will explore the old and new city of Delhi. You’ll be mesmerized by the 100-foot, red-stone boundary walls of Red Fort built during the 17th century. Opposite this ancient structure is the Jama Masjid, built in 1656. Found in front of the Jama Masjid is the 1656 AD construction of red sandstone and white marble. It is the largest mosque in India where 20,000 people can pray together. You will also tour the town in a Rickshaw. Along the streets of old Delhi you will see the Raj Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation) Memorial, which is close to the river Yamuna. Next, you will visit the Humayun Tomb of the second Mughal emperor, which was completed by his wife during the 16th century. Shahjahan had the vision for the structure of the Taj Mahal. The Qutub Minar, a 220-foot tower made by one of the first Muslim leaders in India, was built between 1199 and 1368 AD. It runs counter to Rashtrapati Bhawan, the residence of the President of India. There you’ll see the buildings of government and parliament and India Gate which is 130-foot wall built in memory of the soldiers who died during the First World War.

Day 3 - From Delhi to Jaipur

You will drive to Jaipur to visit the Samode Palace Hotel, a 400-year old fort, which is now converted into an excellent luxury hotel. You can also drive through Samode village and catch a glimpse of the unique "Pink City" where the facades of the houses and the city walls are painted in pink. Samode Palace Hotel was built by the prime minister of the King of Jaipur. You will have lunch at the hotel and then a tour of the palace to view its exclusive mirror frescoes and paintings. Later on, you will cross Samode village and see the villagers in India. Upon arrival, you can transfer to the hotel and stay there for the night.

Day 4 - Exploring Jaipur

After an early breakfast you will drive to fort Amber (6 miles), the former capital of Kachhawaha Rajputs. On the way, you will stop to visit the city’s landmark: the Hawa Mahal (palace of the winds). Built during the 18th century, the five-story building features 953 windows and niches from which the royal women observed the procession in the street without being seen. Next you will visit Amber fort, which lies on 400-foot-tall hill and is surrounded by the chain of mountains known as Aravalli. Afterwards you will visit the Pink city Jaipur. The city palace built in 1734 lies in the center of Jaipur and is now the residence of the royal family of Jaipur and a beautiful museum. After that you will visit Jantar Mantar, an observatory. It was built in the 18th century by the city founder Jai Singh II. The instruments are out of stone and marble and served to the sky observation. You will ten return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5 - From Jaipur, to Fatehpur Sikri, to Agra

Your tour of cultural India with Nepal will not be complete without a visit to Agra. After breakfast, you will drive to Agra. On the way, you can visit to Fatehpur Sikri (22 miles from Agra), the former Metropolitan Akbar, built in 1569. Akbar transferred his capital to Fatehpur Sikri, but after 13 years due to water scarcity, the capital was moved to Lahore in Pakistan, and then again in Agra. Upon your arrival in Agra, you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 - Exploring Agra

Agra is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna and has been the seat of Mughal leaders of 16th and 17th century. After the breakfast, you will visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (built between 1631-1653 AD). A poem in white marble it was built by Mughal ruler Shah Jahan for his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal. Its extravagant architecture reveals its secret of being one of the Seven Wonders of the World. 20,000 workers with experts from Italy, France, Iran and Asia were busied for 21 years with the monument. Afterwards you will visit the huge and massive Agra fort at the west bank of the Yamuna River. The Agra fort was built in the 16th century by Akbar and was completed by his grandson. Then you will visit Sikandra, the impressive grave of Akbar, the most powerful of all Mughal emperors which is located about 6 miles away from the city. You will then return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7 - From Agra to Khajuraho (By Train)

In the morning after breakfast at 7.15 am you will be transferred to the train station at Agra on trains Shatabadi Express for Jhansi. After your arrival in Jhansi, you will be met by one of our representative and proceed to Khajuraho by car. On the way you will stop to visit Orchha , which is known for its 17th-century forts and palaces. You will then contine your drive to Khajuraho. After your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8 - From Khajuraho to Varanasi (By Air)

You will visit the Eastern and Western group of temples. The figures and sculptures in these temples honor women and sex. These temples are around 1000 years old and the only of its kind in the whole world. During the evening visit the dance show in Kandariya Art of Culture. In the afternoon, you can transfer to the airport for the flight to Varanasi. Varanasi is situated on the banks of the holy river Ganges. The oldest name is Kashi and means "city of Light". The city is devoted to Lord Shiva and is one of the holiest cities of the Hindus. It is also one of the oldest centers of learning of the world. After your arrival in Varanasi, you will be transferred to your hotel and after a short break you make an excursion to Sarnath (5 miles), one of the head centers of Buddhism. Buddha preached his first sermon in Samath after he got enlightenment. Of the entire complex, the Dhamekh Stupa (built during the 5th and 6th centuries) and the Dharma Chakra are imposing buildings built to pay tribute to the place where Buddha preached his first disciples. You will also visit the Dharmarajika Stupa (273-326 BC) where Buddha meditated, and where the alleged bones of Buddha are said to be at rest.You will return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. You can also inspect the fort and museum on the bank of the river Ganges. Varanasi is where you will spend the rest of the night.

Day 9 - Touring Varanasi

At early dawn, you will board a boat to ride on the river Ganges. Watch the sunrise and you can view hundreds of folks worshiping and taking a bath in the sacred river. Come back afterwards to the hotel for breakfast. Then, you can continue your metropolis tour of the older city by visiting the temples including Kashi Hindu University where more than fifty thousand students from all over the world study. Go back to the hotel to spend the night.

Day 10 - From Varanasi to Bhairawa (Nepal)

You will be transferred to the Sunali border of Nepal. After some immigration formalities, you will drive 1.2 miles to Bhairawa where you can see more of Nepal.

Day 11 - From Bhairawa, to Lumbini, to Chitwan (Royal National Park)

You will first visit Lumbini, and then drive on to the Chitwan Royal National Park. Your visit to India will not be complete without an elephant ride in the jungle, where you can see the rhino and other wildlife where animals in their natural environment. With some luck, you can also see the rare tigers and leopards.

Day 12 - Exploring Chitwan

An early morning trip will allow you to explore the jungle and see more than 400 types of birds. There, you will have the opportunity to speak with them, to see their homes, and while watching the birds, enjoy a hot cup of tea. Afterwards, you will go to a Tharu-village and spend the night at the Chitwan National Park.

Day 13 - Chitwan - Kathmandu

After breakfast you will drive to Kathmandu. You will also see the Pasupatinath Temple and Bodnath Stupa, and visit Durbar Square. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 14 - More of Kathmandu

After breakfast, there will be an excursion to Bkatapur and Patan, which are the medieval cities of Nepal. YOu will then stay overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 15 - Final Stop: From Kathmandu to Delhi

You will be transferred to Kathmandu International Airport to board your flight to Delhi. After arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to Delhi international airport for the flight back to your country.
